Karen White Wine – Books

As a Karen White Ambassador, it would be remiss of us to fail in promoting a Book Signing she will be having at one of our favorite wineries. For those who don’t know, Karen White is the New York Times bestselling author of more than twenty novels,author-photo-home including the Tradd Street series, The Night the Lights Went Out, Flight Patterns, The Sound of Glass, A Long Time Gone, and The Time Between. She is the coauthor of The Forgotton Room with New York Times bestselling authors Beatriz Williams and Lauren Willig. She grew up in London but now lives with her husband near Atlanta, Georgia. I love her books and Tradd Street series particularly.

Silver Coast Winery in Brunswick County NC is a hidden gem tucked away in woods not Silver-Coast-Wineryfar from Ocean Isle Beach. (You’ll need Google Maps to help you find it, although they do have good directional signage on Hwy 17).  It is a terrific winery with an excellent selection of wines. We both love, love the Calabash Blush, and the Holiday Red.

The Book Signing is on June 8th at 5:00 p.m. She’ll be signing her book Dreams of Falling. Tickets are $7.50 and that includes a glass of wine. How can you go wrong? The event is sponsored by Pelican Bookstore, which I assume is an independent bookseller in the area.

The sad part for me is that I just moved away from the coast a month ago and won’t get a chance to meet Karen in person. I tried to attend one of her signings in Hendersonville, NC,  but it’s for book club members in the area only. So don’t anyone pass up this chance in Southeastern NC and even in the Myrtle Beach, SC area to stop and see a great author at a great winery. This is a Win & Wine opportunity.

Where in the World Will Karen White Be?

Below are a few reviews from our Blog and featured in Livin’ Out Loud magazine:

The House on Tradd Street by Karen White

Now that I’m retired, I can take the time to read a series ‘in order’ instead of just hitting4505161-_uy630_sr1200630_.jpg on an author and moving on in order to make a book review deadline. Not long ago, I read a Karen White novel and decided it was a good time to work on my ‘series’ agenda. What better subject than Charleston. Charleston, SC is the oldest and second largest city in SC, and the ambiance can be intoxicating. The rich history and beauty of this city seem to draw you in. White has used this backdrop for the first of her Tradd Street novels where protagonist realtor Melanie Middleton inherits a dilapidated house. According to the terms of the inheritance, she must live in the house for one year before she can sell it. However, Melanie has a gift; she can see the ghosts living in the ruins of the homes walls as well as others. As she and her restoration man Jack Trenholm work, they uncover family secrets. If you are not familiar with Karen White, this is a good place to start. The Guests on South Battery is her latest Tradd Street novel, and it was released in January (2017).
